Third Week of Easter
“What signs do you do that we may see and believe in you? What work do you do?” Jn 6:30-35
In today’s gospel people wanted to see spectacular signs in Jesus in order to believe. They want the bread of the past, which they neither remember, nor have they eaten of it. They just want to experience a sign from God. However, Jesus insists that faith is a free and gratuitous gift.
Today Jesus presents himself as the bread of the present: I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not go hungry. May our constant prayer and supplication be: Lord, always give us of this bread!
