JUSTICE

When tracing the meaning of the word justice, words such as righteousness, equity, right, living honestly appear. Psalm 71 tells us: “In his days let justice flourish and peace abound eternally.” Will Christmas be the same for everyone? Will everyone have what they need? Will there be dinner on all tables? Will all children have the secure affection of a home? The answers are obvious because injustice abounds. This Christmas, let us contemplate reality to discover how much we have and how much we can share as a gesture of solidarity and compassion with our brothers and sisters. Justice, it is the Christmas of the weak, the small and destitute, of the powerless.
