“And he tried to see him.” (Luke 9:7-9)

Herod is confused and disturbed by wondering who is that character whom people see as a prophet, like John the Baptist… and he wanted to see him. We cannot imagine what his intentions would be to approach Jesus, but we do know that it could not be for something good, because he eliminated anyone who confronted him and made him see that he did not walk in the truth. He was clinging to power. Are you looking for Jesus? Do you want to meet him? Today Jesus comes to meet us. He wants us to know him, to listen to him, to open our hearts to him, not to walk in darkness. He is the Light and the Truth and the Life, and the more we know Him, the more we will love Him and the closer we will follow Him.
