THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION “Do the will of God” Mt. 7:21, 24-27

Today’s Gospel text begins by emphasizing doing over saying. That is why Jesus says, “Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does my will. That is, to live as God invites us to do. Therefore, you will choose truth, justice, and life. This is the testimony that remains. Words, as we say, are blown away by the wind.

The important thing is to do what God wants. To live according to his desires is not to follow a series of rituals, but a life that puts God at the center. To see everything from the perspective of the Kingdom and to make God’s desire transparent.

To listen to God and put into practice what we have heard is to be like people who build on solid rock. In this way we will be able to resist all the difficulties of life. Otherwise, we will be like people who build on sand, without any consistency, they do not have God as their foundation. They have built their lives apart from God.

We can ask ourselves if God is really the foundation of our lives. This Advent is a propitious time to return to Him.
