“And they were afraid to ask him about the matter.” Lk. 9:43b-45

Fear is a natural emotion that all human beings feel at various times in our lives. Fear is generally related to a lack of confidence, uncertainty about the unknown or doubt about whether or not we should do something. Today’s Gospel tells us that Jesus was announcing to his disciples about his end, but they did not understand and “were afraid to ask him about the matter.” Fear is also an emotion to which Jesus is not indifferent and which He welcomes with love when we present it to him. What fear or fears do we present to Jesus today? Let us ask him to help us grow in our relationship with him so that we can present our life to him with faith and confidence as it is, in authenticity.
