“He welcomes sinners and eats with them” Lk.15:1-10

This criticism of Jesus is actually a wonderful announcement: Jesus welcomes sinners and eats with them. This is what happens in every Eucharist: Jesus is happy to welcome us at his table where He offers himself for us. And for one sinner, (among 99 righteous people…) Jesus does not make the calculations that we would do with our “common sense”: He is not resigned to losing one and cares precisely for the one who does not know the beauty of his love, who has not yet accepted Jesus at the center of his life. We all have a place and no one can replace us in the heart of God. This is to believe… to pray today and give many thanks!

(Cf. Pope Francis, homily at the Angelus on September 15, 2019)
