“The good woman gave little, but she gave humbly.” Lk. 21:1-4
Jesus speaks to us today about the widowed woman, not only to recognize her and dignify her role as woman, but to give her a place in society. Then what He wants is to show in the opposite direction, a society that moves from relationships of appearance, of power, and possession. But the great value of the human being is simplicity of heart, which moves him to give from a generous love, without expecting reward. “Truly I tell you, that poor widow has put in more than all of them.” The attitude of this widow is a lesson in solidarity, detachment, and abandonment to God’s providence.
What attitudes of mine are of detachment and generosity in the style of Jesus?
