“We play and they do not dance, we sing lamentations and they do not weep.” Lk. 7:31-35
There is an attitude that is increasingly common in our society; dissatisfaction, that indifference which makes us not feel a part of anything, leading us little by little to lose all sensitivity. It seems that this is not only an attitude of modern society, since we see that Jesus himself reproached it in his time. Today’s psalm is a complement to the Gospel, as it speaks to us of giving thanks to God “with all our hearts.” And along these lines, it can also be said that one way to deal with that indifference and dissatisfaction, in which we can fall, is to be grateful, but not in a superficial way or just out of courtesy. It is a matter of giving thanks from the heart, as the Psalm expresses it to us. Today, for what do we thank the Lord wholeheartedly?
