Our Lady of Sorrows

“And from that hour the disciple received her into his house”. Jn. 19:25-27

In memory of Our Lady of Sorrows, the Gospel reminds us of the moment of the crucifixion in which Jesus entrusts his Mother to the care of the disciple and vice versa. It is a touching moment, because in the midst of his own suffering, Jesus is not indifferent to the pain of those who accompany him and also suffer because they love him. God is in solidarity with our pain and that is why it makes sense to feel accompanied by Our Lady in so many situations that afflict us and that afflict the world today. In a moment of prayer, let us become aware of the pains we suffer personally and communally and present them to Mary. Today let us remember with greater meaning that we are Her Company, and that She is a  Companion to all of us.
