Paul, Silvanus and Timothy, to the Church of Thessalonica, grace and peace.                   1 Thess.1:1-5.8-10

This week we are going to pray with the first text of the New Testament, written by Paul in the year 51, from Corinth, where he had arrived after several persecutions and is assailed by the memory and concern for that young and threatened community. If we read each verse carefully, we discover the kind closeness with which Paul refers to this community, which he calls in the first verse: Church of Thessalonica. It is then a Christian community, not founded on the law, but on faith, hope and love; Paul evangelized them not only with words, but with a Spirit-led way of proceeding that has borne abundant fruit. For this reason, they have already become evangelizers for those of Macedonia and Achaia. Is it not true that we can think of a Synodal Church? That what Francis felt called to promote was not a novelty, nor a fashion, but a return to the sources? How can we join this journey together, from our here and now?
