You cannot serve God and money. Mt. 19:23-30

After the rich young man “went away sad,” comes Jesus’ dialogue with his disciples. They fulfill the two conditions that Jesus set for the rich young man: they have left everything and have followed Jesus. This time Pedro is largely right. That is why his reward will be the fullness of life, already anticipated in the present. But it turns out that leaving everything and following Jesus is not done once and for all. It is an effort every day and not with fists, but with openness to the grace of God that makes it possible for us… This is how we have experienced it… we know. And, moreover, the renunciation of attachment to material goods is not advice for some, it is an absolute requirement and for all, as long as wealth becomes a god, who attempts to direct life. Let us ask for the grace of lucidity, to detect the riches that become obstacles to following Jesus.
