“All that we are and have comes from God and is for others.”
Once again in today’s Gospel, Jesus insists on the need to live attentively, ready to meet Him, who can arrive at the least expected moment. Today more than ever, unexpected deaths often surprise us. There is also another important call for vigilance; Jesus speaks to us of the steward who is aware of what his master has entrusted to him and who is always ready and prepared to receive his Lord and give an account to him. This awareness of being stewards of what has been entrusted to us is essential to remain not only awake, but diligent, willing to put at the service what we have received because everything we are and have comes from God and is for others. This is what the Church tells us today when she invites us to enter into the synodal dynamic, aware that we all have gifts and charisms with which we can help others. Are we aware of everything we can contribute?
