“God with us” Mt. 1:18-24

We continue on our way this Advent and we are getting closer to the Feast of Christmas. In it, we celebrate the great mystery of a God who becomes incarnate, who becomes one of us, and we recognize him as Emmanuel, the God with us.

However, many in our world have cast God out of their lives. closing themselves in their own contradictions and miseries. If this is so, then who can tell us who we are and what we really want? We need God to be born again among us, to spring up with new light in our consciences. To meet that God, we don’t have to go far. It is enough to approach ourselves silently. It is enough to delve into our deepest questions and desires. This is the message of Christmas: God is close to each one of us, where you are, as long as you open yourself to his Mystery. The inaccessible God has become man, and his mysterious intimacy surrounds us.

God can be born in each one of us. Just open your heart.
