“Be awake always” Lk. 21:34-36

“Be awake always” Lk. 21:34-36

We are coming to the end of the Liturgical Year. Jesus gives one last piece of advice and summons us to be vigilant. He tells us: take care that your heart is not dulled by debauchery and by the cares of life. All of this distracts us from the fundamentals, and we lose critical awareness. Hence, we must always be prepared, because the wait is long and we run the risk of not paying attention to events that reflect to us an insensitive, unjust world, oblivious to the suffering of people.

For this reason, being vigilant is imperative; And one way to do that is to live in righteousness and honesty. Therefore, avoiding every evil that blinds and paralyzes us. Pray at all times to have strength, lucidity, sensitivity, and to recognize the voice of the Spirit that is revealed to us. The sudden arrival needs us to be prepared. For this, we must be awake and stand before the Son of Man.
